We are looking for an experienced Investment Officer Financial Institutions to join a global leader in impact investment. This is a unique 100% remote opportunity with high exposure across Southeast Asia, where you will work on pure debt transactions across transformative sectors such as Microfinance, Housing Finance, SME Lending, Edu-Finance and Healthcare Finance
🎯 Your Key Responsibilities
- Originate and evaluate investment opportunities across Financial Institutions in Southeast Asia.
- Lead and support end-to-end debt transactions, from prospecting to structuring, due diligence, and closing.
- Develop investment proposals and present them to Investment Committees.
- Manage and monitor an existing debt portfolio, ensuring strong risk-adjusted returns and measurable impact.
- Maintain deep knowledge of economic, financial, and political trends across the region.
- Collaborate with legal, ESG, and risk teams to ensure comprehensive deal execution.
- Travel frequently to meet clients, partners, and conduct on-site due diligence (up to 30%).
🧠 What Were Looking For
Must-Have:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in debt investments, with a proven track record of executing debt transactions (origination to disbursement).
- Hands-on experience in impact investing and deep understanding of Financial Institutions, including:
- Microfinance Institutions (MFIs)
- Housing Finance Institutions
- SME Lenders
- Educational or Healthcare finance
- Gender-focused lending institutions
- Strong familiarity with the Southeast Asia region, especially Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand
- Ability to work autonomously in a cross-border, remote environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Right attitude - Self-motivated with a proactive mindset, consistently available and approachable.

- Regional languages such as Khmer, Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, Vietnamese, Mandarin, or French.
- Prior exposure to impact metrics, ESG due diligence, and working in multicultural remote teams.
