About the job Solution Engineer - ELV / CCTV
We are seeking a technically proficient and client-focused Sales Engineer / Solution Architect with expertise in ELV (Extra Low Voltage) and CCTV systems. This role will support the sales process with deep technical insight, providing innovative and robust physical security solutions to meet complex client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Pre-Sales Support
- 
Collaborate with Account Executives to conduct technical discovery calls and site surveys to assess client needs, infrastructure, and constraints. 
- 
Serve as the primary technical contact for clients throughout the pre-sales process, building credibility and trust. 
- 
Translate complex client requirements into detailed technical specifications and system designs. 
2. Solution Design & Architecture
- 
Design integrated physical security solutions centered on CCTV/VMS, incorporating network requirements, storage calculations, server sizing, and cybersecurity considerations. 
- 
Prepare high-quality documentation, including: - 
System diagrams and schematics (using tools such as Visio, AutoCAD) 
- 
Bill of Materials (BOM) with detailed product specifications 
- 
Scope of Work (SOW) documents 
- 
Technical proposals and presentations 
 
- 
- 
Conduct technology demonstrations and proof-of-concepts (POCs) for prospective clients. 
3. Technical Expertise & Consultation
- 
Provide expert guidance on IP video surveillance, video analytics, network architecture, and system integration (e.g., Access Control, PSIM). 
- 
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies, product lines from leading manufacturers (e.g., Axis, Hanwha Vision, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon), and industry trends. 
- 
Advise clients and the sales team on best practices for system design, cybersecurity, and scalability. 
4. Proposal & RFP Response
- 
Lead technical responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Quote (RFQs). 
- 
Ensure all technical aspects of proposals are accurate, compliant, and competitive. 
- 
Differentiate solutions from competitors based on technical merit and architectural advantages. 
5. Internal Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- 
Transition successfully sold projects to operations and project management teams with clear, concise technical documentation. 
- 
Train and mentor the sales team on new products, technologies, and industry trends. 
- 
Provide feedback to leadership regarding product gaps, market trends, and competitive intelligence. 
Qualifications & Skills
- 
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
- 
6+ years of pre-sales technical support and solution design experience, ideally in ELV, CCTV, or security systems. 
- 
Strong expertise in IP video surveillance systems, network architecture, and system integration. 
- 
Proficiency in tools such as Visio and AutoCAD for technical documentation. 
- 
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
- 
Experience responding to RFPs and RFIs, with strong proposal writing skills. 
- 
Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, site surveys, and demonstrations.
