Key Responsibilities

Lead Survey Operations

  • Supervise multiple field crews conducting topographic, boundary, and construction surveys

  • Manage survey calculations, control networks, and legal boundary descriptions

  • Ensure deliverables meet applicable regulations and project scope

Oversee Quality and Compliance

  • Conduct QA/QC reviews on all survey deliverables

  • Maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local jurisdictional standards

  • Manage updates for aerial mapping, LiDAR, and sUAS technologies where applicable

Team Leadership and Mentorship

  • Provide leadership and direction to survey technicians and crew chiefs

  • Set goals, conduct 1:1 reviews, and support professional development

  • Coordinate workforce scheduling and productivity management

Client and Project Management

  • Serve as the point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and scope alignment

  • Lead proposal development and client presentations

  • Manage budgets, billing, and project timelines

Required Skills and Expertise

Experience:

  • 10+ years of professional surveying experience

  • Proven leadership in managing survey teams and client engagements

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Inroads/Microstation

  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor license (active)

  • Strong command of Federal, State, and local surveying regulations

Professional Attributes:

  • Effective communicator across technical and non-technical teams

  • Proactive problem solver with strong planning and execution skills

  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on mentorship and operational excellence

Other Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Familiarity with subsurface utility locating, LiDAR, aerial mapping, and sUAS preferred
