Introduction/Overview

We are seeking a hands-on and technically driven Ground Robotics Technician to support the testing, calibration, and maintenance of Autonomous and Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) used in advanced transportation and defense operations. This role is essential to ensuring the performance and reliability of automated driving systems, including closed-loop, remote, and leader-follower technologies.

Ideal for a mechanically and electronically inclined technician with strong diagnostic capabilities, this position offers a rare opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge autonomous vehicle research and development under government contracts. Key Responsibilities

Testing & Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct functional testing on vehicle electronic and mechanical systems pre- and post-installation.

  • Perform calibration, road testing (closed and open), and system tuning on autonomous driving platforms.

  • Troubleshoot down to the component level for electronic assemblies in both new and existing designs.

Collaboration & Development Support:

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and mechanical engineers, to refine designs.

  • Implement engineering changes, assist in design validation, and document findings with test data.

  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures for products under development.

Fieldwork & Client Interaction:

  • Travel to customer sites for system installations, calibrations, vehicle surveys, and follow-up testing.

  • Participate in outdoor, on-location work for durations ranging from several days to a few weeks, including international assignments as needed.

Required Skills and Expertise

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics and mechanical systems testing and troubleshooting.

  • Hands-on work in electro-mechanical environments, including robotics or autonomous systems.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Ability to diagnose down to component-level faults in electronic assemblies.

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office and software applications related to data collection and documentation.

Professional Attributes:

  • Strong technical communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Capable of interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.

Other Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical training in electronics, robotics, or a related field.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

  • Must be able to obtain a passport (sponsored if needed).
