About the Company and Role

We are looking for a Derivatives/Middle Office Analyst to join the finance team in Almaty. This role sits at the intersection of trading, risk, and operations and involves hands-on work with margin calculations, trade confirmations, daily mark-to-market revaluations, and close interaction with both counterparties and internal stakeholders. The position is well suited for someone who wants to deepen their expertise in derivatives and build a long-term career in financial markets.

Our client is a financial company operating across both exchange-traded and OTC derivative markets. The team works in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment with a strong focus on accuracy, risk control, and transparent internal processes.

Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan. Full-time, office-based role.

What kind of qualifications we are looking for:

  • Higher education in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field;
  • Basic understanding of derivatives (FX, futures, options);
  • Conceptual understanding of the differences between exchange-traded and OTC instruments;
  • Confident Excel skills (calculations, reporting, reconciliations);
  • Working level of English (reading documentation and written communication).

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in margin requirement calculations for derivative transactions: Exchange-traded instruments (futures, options) & OTC deals (FX forwards, NDFs, and similar instruments);
  • Prepare and review trade confirmations;
  • Perform daily mark-to-market (MTM) revaluation of open positions;
  • Calculate, monitor, and control margin calls;
  • Participate in P&L calculations when closing forwards and futures;
  • Maintain calculations and reports in Excel;
  • Interact with counterparties and internal teams.

Nice to have requirements:

  • Experience in a bank, brokerage, or investment company;
  • Familiarity with margin requirements (Initial Margin/Variation Margin);
  • Understanding of the ISDA/CSA framework and its underlying logic.
