About the job System Administrator
About the Company and Role
We are looking for a System Administrator to join an internal IT team and take ownership of day-to-day infrastructure and user support.
This is a hands-on role with a broad scope: supporting office users, working with servers (Windows and Linux), the network, and internal infrastructure in a hybrid environment (on-prem + cloud). There is no dedicated helpdesk layer, so the role involves direct interaction with employees and real ownership of incidents and systems.
Our client is a financial company operating in the investment and brokerage space. The team works in a structured, process-driven environment with a strong focus on risk control, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of internal systems.
This role is a good fit for someone comfortable working across different areas of infrastructure, who enjoys solving day-to-day issues, and is looking to grow into a stronger, more independent specialist.
Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan (full-time, office-based).
We are offering:
- Salary: 500,000 – 600,000 KZT net, depending on experience;
- Stable full-time role in an office-based environment;
- Opportunity to grow and develop within the team;
- Support from an experienced system administrator;
- Exposure to real infrastructure across servers, the network, and users.
Interview Process:
- HR screening (30–40 minutes);
- Technical interview with the current System Administrator;
- Final interview with the Finance Director and the Technical Expert;
- Job offer.
What kind of qualifications we are looking for:
- Hands-on experience in system administration;
- Good understanding of Windows (client and server systems);
- Basic experience with Linux;
- Understanding of Active Directory fundamentals;
- Basic knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN);
- Experience supporting users and handling incidents;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with employees.
Responsibilities:
- Support office users (around 30 employees) and resolve technical issues;
- Maintain and support workstations and server infrastructure;
- Administer Windows and Linux servers;
- Monitor systems and respond to incidents;
- Configure and support network equipment;
- Manage backups and ensure data integrity;
- Work with vendors on equipment procurement and maintenance;
- Support overall IT infrastructure (on-prem + cloud).
Nice to have requirements:
- Experience with 1C;
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix);
- Basic understanding of virtualization;
- Experience with corporate tools and services (mail systems, etc.);
- Basic knowledge of databases or web administration.
If you enjoy hands-on work across users, servers, and infrastructure, and want to grow into a stronger specialist with real ownership, this role is worth a closer look.
