System Administrator

About the Company and Role

We are looking for a System Administrator to join an internal IT team and take ownership of infrastructure and user support.

This is a hands-on role with a broad scope: administering servers (Windows and Linux), working with network and infrastructure in a hybrid environment (on-prem + cloud).

Our client is a financial company operating in the investment and brokerage space. The team works in a structured, process-driven environment with a strong focus on risk control, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of internal systems.

This role is a good fit for someone comfortable working across infrastructure and network, handling day-to-day operational tasks, and taking responsibility for systems in production.


Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan (full-time, office-based).

We are offering:

• Salary: 800,000 – 1,100,000 KZT net, depending on experience;
• Stable full-time role in an office-based environment;

Interview Process:

• HR screening (30–40 minutes);
• Technical interview with the current System Administrator;
• Final interview with the Finance Director and the Technical Expert;

What kind of qualifications we are looking for:

• Hands-on experience in system administration (5+ years);
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux systems;
• Experience administering servers and infrastructure;
• Experience with virtualization (Proxmox);
• Good understanding of networking (VLAN, routing, NAT);
• Experience working with network equipment (MikroTik, pfSense);
• Experience configuring VPN;
• Experience with Active Directory;
• Experience with monitoring systems (e.g. Zabbix);
• Understanding of antivirus solutions;
• Ability to communicate with internal users.

Responsibilities:

• Administration and support of Windows and Linux servers;
• Managing virtualization environment;
• Configuration and support of network infrastructure;
• Working with network equipment;
• Managing Active Directory (users, access, policies);
• Monitoring systems and infrastructure;
• Troubleshooting incidents and ensuring high availability of systems;
• Supporting and maintaining security solutions.

Nice to have requirements:

• Experience with 1C;
• Experience with corporate systems and services (mail, internal tools);
• Basic understanding of databases or web administration;
• Knowledge of the Kazakh language.
