About the Company and Role

We are hiring a Chief Technology Officer for a high-load B2C platform operating at the intersection of gaming and transactional systems.

The product is already scaled, with 10+ engineering teams and a live production environment that includes real-time operations, payments, and high system load. The focus of the role is to increase delivery speed, remove bottlenecks, and help teams ship business-critical features faster.

This role requires a hands-on technical leader who is comfortable working at both the architecture and code level, takes ownership of outcomes, and is able to balance speed with reliability in areas such as transactions, security, and data integrity.

You will be working in a mixed environment of legacy and modern technologies, where priorities are driven by product impact and delivery timelines.

Tech Stack: Python (Flask – legacy, FastAPI – new services), Node.js (Nest, Express), React, MySQL (legacy), PostgreSQL, Kafka, Kubernetes, Temporal, Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry.

Location: remote, full-time role in the EU time zone (global team, flexible setup).

• Competitive compensation: $15,000 - 18,000 gross (depending on experience and impact);

What kind of qualifications we are looking for:

• 3+ years of experience managing multiple engineering teams;
• Strong hands-on background with deep understanding of Python (ability to work with code when needed);
• Experience working with Node.js and React-based environments;
• Experience working in product companies with established teams and production systems;
• Experience in gaming, fintech, or transactional B2C platforms will be a strong advantage;
• Proven experience improving delivery speed and time-to-market;
• Experience identifying and removing bottlenecks in engineering processes;
• Hands-on involvement in architecture and technical decision-making;
• Experience working with high-load systems in production;
• Strong understanding of security practices (OWASP, architecture protection);
• Experience working with transactional systems (payments, fraud prevention, data integrity);
• Practical experience integrating AI into development workflows:
• code generation, automated testing, code review support, delivery acceleration;
• Experience applying AI tools as part of engineering processes, not just for individual usage.
• English B2 (confident communication with international teams).

• Support teams in delivering production-ready solutions efficiently;
• Contribute to architecture decisions and work hands-on when needed;
• Ensure stability and correctness in critical areas:
• transactions, payments, data integrity, and security;
• Work with teams in a dynamic environment with ongoing changes and production challenges;
• Develop and scale the use of AI tools in engineering workflows.

• Experience building or scaling a product or startup;
• Experience working in environments with frequent releases and real-time systems.
