Job Openings Network Engineer - Low-Latency Systems

About the job Network Engineer - Low-Latency Systems

About the Company and Role

Our client is a fast-growing global trading firm that relies on high-performance infrastructure to stay ahead in ultra-competitive markets. Their operations span multiple regions, and they prioritize speed, resilience, and precision across every layer of their technology stack.

We are hiring a Low-Latency Network Engineer to take ownership of critical network links,  including RF and optical paths,  enabling the fastest possible data delivery across long-distance routes. This is a unique opportunity to work on bleeding-edge infrastructure in a performance-obsessed environment, alongside a team of world-class engineers and technologists.

You will lead the design and operation of highly optimized low-latency networks, coordinate with RF vendors and submarine cable providers, and ensure end-to-end reliability and observability across hundreds of systems.

Location: full-time role based in Amsterdam or Cyprus.

We are offering:

  • Competitive compensation above market level, with biannual performance bonuses (up to 50% of annual salary);
  • Access to in-depth internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives;
  • Comprehensive health insurance;
  • Reimbursement for sports and wellness activities;
  • Corporate retreats and offsites twice a year;
  • High autonomy, global collaboration, and a flat organizational structure.

What kind of qualifications we are looking for:

  • Experience building or operating ultra-low-latency networks (preferably in trading, finance, or similarly latency-sensitive domains);
  • Strong knowledge of RF technologies: SDR, LOS validation, link budgeting, spectrum planning;
  • Familiarity with optical infrastructure and submarine cables, including CLS operations and lambda provisioning;
  • Practical experience with Layer 1 switching, optical transport, and latency optimization;
  • Proficiency in network diagnostics and incident response in distributed systems;
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python, NetBox) and observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana);
  • Capacity planning skills and an ability to optimize under scale;
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken);
  • Willingness to travel internationally and collaborate across time zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain RF-based and optical network links optimized for minimal latency;
  • Coordinate with RF vendors and partners to ensure robust link deployment and lifecycle management;
  • Monitor network performance with comprehensive telemetry and alerting tools;
  • Contribute to capacity planning, network documentation, and inventory management (150+ devices, 1000+ servers);
  • Automate routine network tasks and support configuration management processes;
  • Ensure maximum performance and reliability across long-haul network paths.

If you're excited to push the boundaries of network performance in a global trading context - we'd love to hear from you.
