About the Company and Role

We are looking for a Lead Backend Developer/Architect to join our client,  a rapidly growing international fintech and proprietary trading company headquartered in Cyprus.

This is a greenfield project: you will be the first backend hire, working closely with the CTO and frontend team to design and implement the backend architecture for a high-load, real-time trading platform MVP that will serve thousands of active users globally.

You will own the core backend components and have full freedom to shape the architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability from day one.

Tech Stack: Go (Golang), Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Redis, FIX protocol, REST/WebSockets APIs, Docker, AWS, CI/CD. Nice to have: Node.js (NestJS), TypeScript.

Location:

  • Dubai, UAE full-time office role.
  • Remote work possible within Cyprus.

What kind of qualifications we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of backend development experience;
  • 2+ years in a tech leadership or architectural role;
  • Strong expertise in Go (Golang) and distributed systems;
  • Proven experience designing event-driven architectures;
  • Hands-on work with Kafka and ClickHouse;
  • Background with FIX protocol or other trading/financial APIs;
  • Experience with real-time, high-load systems;
  • Solid understanding of performance optimization, reliability, and fault tolerance;
  • Previous work in fintech, prop trading, forex, or brokerage;
  • English Upper-Intermediate+.

Nice to have Requirements:

  • Experience with Node.js / TypeScript (NestJS) for adjacent systems;
  • Familiarity with Docker, AWS, CI/CD pipelines (DevOps handled separately).

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement event-driven backend architecture for the trading platform MVP;
  • Own and develop core backend components: real-time data ingestion, session tracking, order routing, performance analytics, risk monitoring, payouts, etc.;
  • Build scalable microservices to handle growing user base and data volume;
  • Integrate with external trading platforms via FIX protocol and other APIs;
  • Define and drive architectural decisions balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability;
  • Collaborate closely with the CTO, DevOps, and frontend team;
  • Contribute to engineering excellence and long-term platform evolution.
