About the Company and Role

We are hiring a DevOps Engineer for a large-scale FinTech project in the Middle East.

The project is built in a mission-critical environment with high-load systems, complex integrations, and strict security requirements. The infrastructure is primarily on-premise (Enterprise Linux), with selected services running in AWS, forming a hybrid architecture.

This role is focused on building and maintaining reliable, scalable infrastructure and delivery pipelines. You will work with modern DevOps and GitOps practices, supporting production environments where stability, observability, and performance are essential.

You will collaborate directly with the customer's DevOps team and participate in architectural discussions, contributing to infrastructure decisions and delivery processes.

Tech Stack: Linux (CentOS, RHEL), Kubernetes, OpenShift, Istio (Service Mesh), Docker (Swarm, Compose), Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD (GitOps), AWS (EC2, VPC, RDS), Grafana, NewRelic, Dynatrace, ELK / Splunk, Nginx, NFSv4, Bash, Python.

Location: remote, full-time role in the EU time zone.

What kind of qualifications we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps or Systems Engineering;
  • Strong Linux administration skills (CentOS / RHEL);
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, or similar tools;
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation;
  • Solid experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes / OpenShift);
  • Experience working with service mesh technologies such as Istio;
  • Understanding of GitOps principles and experience with tools like ArgoCD;
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, NewRelic, Dynatrace);
  • Experience deploying and supporting Java-based applications;
  • Ability to work independently and communicate directly with international teams;
  • English B2 (confident communication with international teams).

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines from commit to production;
  • Automate infrastructure using Ansible and Infrastructure as Code principles;
  • Support and optimise Kubernetes / OpenShift environments in high-load systems;
  • Work with service mesh (Istio), managing traffic and security policies;
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security across environments;
  • Build monitoring and alerting systems with full observability and logging coverage;
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies;
  • Collaborate directly with the customer's DevOps team on architecture and delivery processes;
  • Support production environments and continuously improve system performance.

Nice to have Requirements:

  • Experience with centralised logging (Splunk or Elasticsearch);
  • Experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, RDS);
  • Knowledge of Nginx and NFSv4;
  • Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python.
