About the Role
Based in Costa Rica, this role acts as the financial anchor and operational driving force for the group's Latin American business entities spanning Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Colombia. The candidate will directly oversee and rehabilitate the Costa Rican entity's financial reporting, support and mentor the local internal accountant, and proactively spearhead structured, timely, and will coordinate the financial closing cycles and accounting issues from the other regional subsidiaries (Ecuador and Colombia).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes for Costa Rica.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with Costa Rican accounting, tax, and statutory requirements.
- Manage tax filings and reporting through local regulatory platforms (ATV / Ministerio de Hacienda).
- Consolidate multi-country financial information and prepare reports for Group Management.
- Support budgeting, costing, cash flow monitoring, and FP&A activities.
- Mentor and support the internal Costa Rican accountant, ensuring best practices and execution excellence.
- Proactively track deadlines, escalate risks, and ensure accountability from internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and monitor accounting close activities performed by third-party accounting providers in Colombia and Ecuador.
- Drive process improvements, standardization, and financial controls across LATAM entities.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar positions.
- Strong background in:
- Financial reporting
- Financial statement analysis
- Budgeting and forecasting
- FP&A
- Cost analysis
- Inventory accounting and manufacturing environments
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Data consolidation
- Multi-currency reporting
- Variance analysis
- Management reporting
Regulatory Expertise
- Strong knowledge of:
- Costa Rican accounting regulations
- Corporate tax compliance
- Statutory reporting
- ATV / Ministerio de Hacienda platforms
Languages
- Native or fluent Spanish.
- Advanced English (spoken and written).
- Ability to communicate directly with international leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP implementations or rollouts.
- Knowledge of Power Query or automated reporting tools.
- Exposure to IFRS environments.
- Experience coordinating finance activities across multiple countries.
- Background in manufacturing, production, inventory-intensive, or distribution businesses.

Costa Rica
Hybrid model:
- Minimum 1 day per week onsite in San Ramón to support and supervise local accounting activities.
- Remaining days remote.
