Lead Consultant – Hotel Market Study & Business Plan (Short Term)

People First Consult (PFC) is looking for an experienced Lead Consultant for a confidential client assignment involving a hotel market study, demand assessment, feasibility analysis and business plan for a proposed hospitality investment in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities

• Market and demand assessment, including customer segmentation and willingness-to-pay analysis
• Hotel supply and competitive landscape assessment
• Primary research with corporate, institutional, government and other relevant stakeholders
• Hospitality benchmarking, including ADR, occupancy, RevPAR and ancillary revenues
• Hotel concept, positioning, target segments and operating model development
• Capex, operating assumptions and high-level financial modelling
• Investment risk and sensitivity analysis
• Preparation of an investment-grade Business Plan and Investment Case
• Presentation of findings and recommendations to senior management/investment decision-makers

Ideal Candidate

• Postgraduate qualification in Business, Finance, Hospitality, Strategy, Economics, Real Estate or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Demonstrated experience in hotel/hospitality market studies, feasibility assessments, business plans or investment cases
• Strong knowledge of hotel commercial and operating drivers, including ADR, occupancy, RevPAR, F&B and operating costs
• Strong financial modelling, analytical, research and report-writing skills
• Experience working in emerging, frontier or data-constrained markets

Experience in Ethiopia/East Africa, mining-linked markets, institutional/NGO/UN travel, government accommodation or hospitality/real estate investment will be an advantage.

Assignment Details

Location: Addis Ababa, with travel to a regional city.
Duration: Approximately 8–12 weeks
Engagement: Short-term consultancy / Contract for Services
Fee: Competitive and commensurate with experience
