Role Overview
As the Electrical Engineer & Works Coordinator, you will split your responsibilities between two interconnected business units: Principal Poles and Principal Electric. The role combines hands-on electrical engineering support under the guidance of a Senior Engineer, with operational coordination for field-based power pole installations. You will play a vital role in ensuring both the technical integrity of engineering work and the smooth delivery of on-site installations.
Key Responsibilities
Principal Poles Works Coordination
- Review scheduled temporary power pole jobs and coordinate installation timelines.
- Liaise with reticulation authorities to process and track connection applications.
- Monitor job progress, identify delays or issues, and communicate status updates to customers.
- Maintain structured scheduling and job documentation.
Principal Electric Engineering Support
- Assist the Senior Electrical Engineer in developing and reviewing reports, designs, and project documentation.
- Support gap analysis in electrical designs and recommend solutions (under instruction).
- Conduct research and provide targeted technical information to assist with engineering decisions.
- Assist in the development of quality and compliance documentation aligned with Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3000.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Working knowledge of Australian Standards, especially AS/NZS 3000.
- Experience in field coordination or construction-related projects is advantageous.
