The Opportunity

Owning a home in Aotearoa is a pipe dream for most. Our client is breaking down barriers and enabling Kiwis to realise their dream of homeownership.

We are looking for a passionate individual to guide, advise and nurture customers into their first home and beyond. Lead generation is already taken care of, so this role will primarily focus on connecting with Kiwis who are already on their way to purchasing their first home and supporting them through the journey. You will help them to set goals, create a plan and hit milestones along the way while striving towards that first home.

About You

While your background with at least 2-3 years in mortgage/financial advising is crucial, we're looking for someone who sees beyond transactions and is eager to provide comprehensive guidance to our community, focusing on their ultimate goal.

You will be:

  • Motivated to make a difference, passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals of homeownership and financial wellbeing
  • Disciplined and highly goal-oriented with the confidence to coach and motivate people through a plan and get them to stick with it
  • You're looking for a role with meaning and purpose and have a strong preference for relationship building and coaching/advisory rather than just commission-driven deals
  • Interested in broadening your scope beyond just mortgages, potentially coaching on other advisory products like insurance (you may already be doing this)
  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and go above and beyond to support the wider team and your customers
  • You will have a strong process orientation and be committed to rigorous follow-through to help people whether they have a journey of months or years ahead of them to cross the finish line

How You'll Add Value:

  • Utilise your expertise as a mortgage advisor to coach and support individuals through the homeownership process, mapping out their fastest possible path.
  • Expand your knowledge by learning about and advising on various financial products beyond mortgages, such as insurance and home purchase
  • Motivate and inspire individuals to take meaningful steps towards achieving their homeownership goals with confidence
  • Proactively engage with community members to introduce our services and offer personalised assistance.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up and cultivate strong relationships with customers throughout their journey to drive them towards their goal
  • Support the founding team to design, build, and improve the organisation's services and deliver on its mission.

Key Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a mortgage/financial advisor - 2-3 years of home loans essential, (personal insurance experience will be a bonus)
  • Relevant recognised NZ qualification (e.g. Level 5 Financial Services)
  • Demonstrated success in assisting individuals with home purchases and collaborating with various financial institutions. You may have your own book or customer pipeline that you'd like to bring over but want a change of environment and culture.
  • Hunger for knowledge and a willingness to broaden your advisory scope beyond traditional mortgages.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide others effectively on a goal-driven timeline
  • Comfortable with both in-person interactions and reaching out via phone to engage directly with community members.
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to building something new.


Being a young venture, working as a team in person to build a positive organisational culture, and foster authentic connections is critical.

While some flexibility and WFH options are available, a strong preference and commitment to an in-person working environment is needed.
