The Quality Supervisor is responsible for QMS including overseeing inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established standards of strength, quality, and endurance. Scope includes providing direction to Associates while developing Team Leads, Technicians, and Teammates through effective coaching, communication, and training. This position requires innovative approaches to problem solving and the ability to develop timely action plans for resolution while driving the tactical execution of the quality management system.

Essential Job Functions-

  • Provide leadership and tactical oversight of the quality process
  • Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes
  • Designs, implements, and maintains quality control training programs / processes
  • Support NPD launches and be actively involved in quality planning
  • Develop and recommend test procedures for products, raw materials, and maintain test equipment
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision of Quality Associates
  • Develops, justifies, and implements QA process improvements
  • Ensures the implementation, proper execution, and maintenance of quality control plans and procedures
  • Work closely with manufacturing and other support functions to troubleshoot compliance issues in real-time
  • Support QA and Ops staff in coordination of, preparation for, and follow-up of internal / external audits and customer issues
  • Participate in and lead Quality focused Kaizen events and root cause analysis

Additional Responsibilities-

  • Responsible for the quality of the manufacturing measurement systems, the fulfillment of customer specific requirements applicable to Engineering and Operations
  • Ensure new products and processes are properly implemented to the release to manufacturing
  • Analyze current processes, develop tactics, metrics, and scorecards integrated into the site's VDM
  • Institute data-driven process improvements which will link Quality, Manufacturing, Planning & Scheduling, Engineering, and Customer Service objectives and goals
  • Drive and oversee a robust system for quality tool and gage calibration compliance
  • Drive quality standards throughout organization and serve as the advocate and voice of quality throughout the business creating a common culture of quality through communication, training, and cross-functional engagement
  • Work in collaboration with NPD and Sourcing teams to complete PPAP requirements, partner in supplier quality improvement projects and resolve quality issues

Education & Experience-

  • Minimum 3 years production quality experience within a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years experience implementing and leading quality systems and teams
  • 2+ years of supplier quality experience
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, will consider combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge and experience using lean manufacturing concepts
  • Proficient with MS Office products
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing data using spreadsheet applications and leveraging data to drive fact-based decision making and process improvement
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma experience highly preferred

Physical Demands & Working Conditions-

  • Moderate physical demands. Work is performed normally within an office setting.
  • Daily and as-needed time spent in the manufacturing environment.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • This is not a remote position; remote work may be performed when approved by leadership.
