Salary Range: $95,000-$105,000
Position Overview: We are recruiting on behalf of an industry leader in manufacturing solutions for telecommunications and energy. They are seeking a highly organized Project Manager to join their Switchgear team.
Important Note: This is an onsite, execution-focused role. While you will collaborate with sales, this is not a sales position. You will be responsible for the continuous management of projects specifically electrical distribution equipment like panelboards and switchboards ensuring they move smoothly from the concept phase through engineering, production, and final shipment. The ideal candidate comes from an electrical contractor or distributor background and is used to managing timelines for technical projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from concept through engineering and production phases to final shipment, ensuring on-time deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding project status, ensuring all pertinent information is received for project deliverables.
- Review customer-provided engineering drawings or concept drawings for technical input and transfer them effectively to the engineering team.
- Participate in weekly production meetings and collaborate with manufacturing engineering to monitor capacity constraints and improve scheduling processes.
- Manage budgetary reviews and document any overages on active and closed projects.
- Work with safety committees to ensure compliance with operational, regulatory, and safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a related field is required; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred.
- 2-5 years of dedicated Project Management experience.
- Must have relevant industry experience managing or estimating projects in electrical equipment manufacturing, electrical distribution, or electrical contracting.
- Ability to read and interpret general 2D/3D drawings and RFQ documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; experience with Smartsheet and SAP is highly preferred.
- Must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment with a high volume of design projects.
- Ability to work fully onsite (this is not a remote position).
