Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS)

  • Prepare year-end financial statements and income tax returns for Sole Traders, Partnerships, Trusts, and Companies

  • Perform ad-hoc bookkeeping, payroll, and custom management/benchmarking reports in Xero

  • Liaise with the ATO on client matters as required

  • Maintain workflow tasks, WIP, and client invoicing if needed

  • Participate in internal training sessions and knowledge-sharing meetings

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Accounting (CA/CPA preferred but not required)
  • 3+ years of experience in Australian public practice
  • Advanced Xero skills, including:

    • Bank reconciliations
    • Invoicing and payroll
    • Report layouts and tax reporting
    • Fixed assets and financial statement/tax mapping
  • Strong understanding of Australian GST, income tax, and reconciliations
  • Proven ability to complete financial statements and tax returns through to review stage
  • Excellent written and verbal English for daily collaboration with the Australian team
  • Adaptable, proactive, and committed to professional growth
