Role Overview:

As a Construction Estimator at our client, you will play a crucial role in their team, responsible for performing detailed construction-based estimates using our cutting-edge software. With your expertise in reading architectural drawings and understanding construction processes, you will contribute to the success of our clients' projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct construction take-offs by precisely measuring and quantifying materials on PDF architectural drawings using our proprietary software tools.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and detailed sections, to accurately interpret project requirements.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of dry wall/plasterboard contractor-specific Scopes of Work to ensure accurate cost estimates.
  • Analyze and interpret architectural plans, diagrams, and specifications to provide reliable and detailed cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with the project team to clarify any ambiguities or discrepancies in the project documentation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up to date with the latest industry trends and software updates.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 year of experience in a construction-related role, preferably as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry practices.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and detailed sections.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies in project documentation.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work with precision and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with construction-specific software and technology is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the project team.
  • Proficient at using construction estimating software. eg: Cubit Estimating software, Bluebeam.
