The Role
An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Lawyer or Associate to join a leading Statutory Insurance practice in Brisbane.

The team is recognised as a leader in Queensland for recovery under the workers compensation scheme, with extensive experience advising well-known self-insurers. You'll work closely with highly regarded partners and lawyers, acting for insured employers, insurers, self-insurers, and corporate clients across a range of matters.

Key Work Includes:

  • Acting for insured employers on behalf of Work Cover Queensland in workers compensation matters
  • Representing state, national, and international insurers, self-insurers, and corporations
  • Drafting codes of practice and occupational health & safety policies for large organisations

  • Product liability litigation and Australian Consumer Law matters

  • Acting in institutional conduct abuse claims

  • Managing other personal injury and general liability matters as required

About You

  • 3 - 4 years post-admission experience in defendant insurance law

  • Experience with a Work Cover QLD panel firm is highly regarded

  • Proven ability to manage workers compensation or personal injury claims end-to-end

  • Skilled in running matters through court proceedings and day-to-day file management

  • Strong technical, analytical, and drafting skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
