Full Description:
A temporary employee wellness clinic serving a transportation industrial workforce in Staten Island, NY is seeking a DOT Certified Medical Provider (NP, PA, or MD) to conduct DOT physical examinations during scheduled mobile clinic events within a professional workplace environment.

This role supports occupational health screening operations by performing DOT physicals, reviewing medical history, documenting examination findings, and determining medical qualification status in accordance with FMCSA guidelines. Clinic dates are scheduled periodically based on workplace wellness and occupational health programming and are not part of a fixed schedule.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently in a mobile clinic setting and providing efficient, professional patient care within a structured workplace environment. Administrative coordination is provided for scheduling and clinic logistics.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepare the mobile clinic workspace within a professional workplace environment.
  • Conduct DOT physical examinations in accordance with FMCSA guidelines.
  • Review patient health history and current concerns.
  • Determine driver medical qualification and complete required certification documentation.
  • Provide patient education regarding follow-up requirements or restrictions when necessary.
  • Refer patients for follow-up care when appropriate.
  • Review lab results via telehealth consultations.
  • Document encounters according to clinical standards.

Requirements:

  • Must hold an active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant license in New York.
  • Must be DOT/FMCSA Certified.
  • Certification as FNP, FNP-C, FNP-BC, or ACNP preferred.
  • Active basic life support (BLS/ ACLS) CPR certification required.
  • A collaborating physician is necessary unless state requirements for independent/autonomous practice are met.
  • Background in internal medicine, family practice, urgent care, or emergency room preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience required.
  • Proficient with computers, customer service-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Focused on preventive medicine and patient education.
  • Must bring a personal laptop or tablet to each shift to complete electronic charting and documentation.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional care standards.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to Staten Island, NY.
