PHRS Hospitality Experts, in collaboration with HALO, is looking for experienced Service Assistants to join the Food & Beverage team onboard a leading ultra-luxury cruise line.

This opportunity is ideal for hospitality professionals with previous experience in luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, or premium food and beverage operations who are passionate about delivering exceptional guest service and developing their international hospitality careers.

About the Role

As a Service Assistant, you will support the restaurant service team in delivering a refined, personalized, and memorable dining experience to guests onboard.

You will assist Waiters with daily service operations, table preparation, buffet service, coffee and tea service, and restaurant station organization while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Waiters in delivering attentive, professional, and personalized dining service.
  • Support restaurant setup, table preparation, and service station organization.
  • Assist with buffet setup, replenishment, and guest service.
  • Provide coffee, tea, and canapé service according to luxury hospitality standards.
  • Prepare and replenish bread baskets, condiments, and table accompaniments.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
  • Assist with greeting, seating, and food running from the galley to restaurant sections.
  • Ensure all service stations are clean, organized, stocked, and ready before service.
  • Support inventory counts and report shortages or breakages.
  • Assist during private events, cocktail receptions, and culinary demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with Waiters, Sommeliers, and other Food & Beverage colleagues to ensure efficient service.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, grooming, and professional presentation.
  • Follow Public Health, HACCP, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Participate in daily service briefings, mandatory training, and shipboard safety drills.
  • Support embarkation, disembarkation, and provisioning duties when required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in luxury dining, hotel service, or premium restaurant operations.
  • Previous cruise ship experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, international cuisine, and luxury hospitality standards.
  • Understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Guest-focused attitude with a proactive and service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to multitask, follow instructions, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Fluent English is mandatory, both written and spoken.
  • Additional languages are an advantage.
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and tablet-based ordering is an advantage.
  • Valid STCW95 certification required.
  • Must be physically and medically fit for shipboard employment.
