The full cycle Senior Accountant role will work closely with Manager and CAO of US operations and work with major brands(clients) in the Industry. Primary responsibilities include the accounting and internal reporting for all balance sheet and P&L accounts pertaining to inventory, sales, compliance and more. This individual will be the subject matter expert for all systems used and will prepare various reports and analysis for management and business partners.
You will have a solid understanding of e-commerce , inventory accounting principles as well as an understanding of inventory control principles. You must be reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively and also work well cross functionally across the organization & multilevel commercial clients. You will monitor and reconcile sales on an eCommerce platform , validate tax compliance, Inventory reserves, inventory cost, adjustments ,monthly journal entries , participate in month end close process ,financial statement prep , audits(construct footnotes ect), work with multi-level commercial clients at the Director level and more ....
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned month-end duties and reporting schedules.
Produces various monthly/quarterly/annual reports
Evaluates the reasonableness and calculation of established inventory reserves.
Responsible or consolidation of financials for multiple companies
Provides guidance and/or resolution of reconciling items.
Participates in system process and development projects.
Reconcile sales to Inventory on an e-commerce platform to sales
Validate tax compliance
Investigation variances
Monitors Internal Controls are adhered to related to sales & inventory.
Manages and improves the monthly financial closing process.
Prepares analysis to support management initiatives and audit requests.
Responsible for effectiveness of internal controls for closing routine process and other general accounting
processes including maintenance of risk and control scorecards.
Work directly with both internal and external auditors on financial audits.
Participate in special projects as requested by leadership.
Accountant qualifications and skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong knowledge of accrual base accounting
- Experience in e-commerce a plus
- Exposure to e-commerce, retail or distribution Industry required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a Audit Firm a plus
- CPA preferred but not required
- Bilingual Spanish/English required.
