Overview of the Position
The School Experience and Engagement Officer plays a key role in enhancing school life by supporting student engagement, organizing school events, creating engaging communications and visual materials, and fostering a vibrant and connected school community.
Scope of the Position
The Officer reports to the Business Manager. S/he works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners to promote a positive school experience and strengthen the sense of belonging across the Pinewood community. The standard working hours are 8:30 to 16:30 throughout the year, with required evening and/or weekend hours.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and execution of school events, celebrations, community activities, and student engagement initiatives.
- Create posters, flyers, and other communication materials in accordance with the School's branding guidelines.
- Create short videos for social media highlighting school life and events.
- Prepare visual materials for presentations, assemblies, and school events.
- Photograph and document school activities for use in school publications, newsletters, social media, and internal communications.
Liaise with community partners, vendors, and sponsors.
- Identify opportunities to secure in-kind and financial support for school initiatives.
Organize monthly meet-ups for faculty and staff.
Oversee the student newsletter committee.
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Media, Public Relations, Event Management, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in communications, event coordination, student engagement, graphic design, or a related role.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, and graphic design and video editing software experience photography, and videography is an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination abilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Creative, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Enthusiastic about working in an educational environment and committed to the mission and values of Pinewood.
