Overview of the Position
The Accounting Officer is responsible for journal entries in the accounting system, for tracking the collections, and for assisting the Accountant.
Scope of the Position
The Accounting Officer reports directly to the Head of accounting, PW. The Accounting Officer hours are 8:30 – 14:30 throughout the fiscal year.
Accounting Assistant responsibilities
- Responsible for coding, recording, and updating journal entries in the accounting system (credit cards, banks, etc..)
Issue pro forma invoices for all families
- Collection and tracking of tuition fees and other payments. Send reminders to families about late payments and follow up with phone calls when needed
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Process orders
Assist the accountant
All other tasks assigned on an as need basis
Educational Background
Bachelor Degree in Accounting
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Drive, general Computer proficiency
Ability to work in a diverse multinational work environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and to work with detail, precision, speed and accuracy
- Flexible and adaptable, open to new ideas, takes on new responsibilities, handles pressure, and adjusts plans to meet changing needs
- A team player with a proactive can-do attitude who meets all team deadlines and responsibilities, helps team leader to meet goals
Experience
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an audit firm, multinational company or institution
Working experience in a school or education field will be considered an asset
