Position Summary:
The Accountant at Pinnacle Intelligence plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This position is responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Accountant will contribute to the financial health of the company by providing timely and accurate financial information, supporting decision-making, and assisting with audits, all within our fast-paced BPO environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Accounting & Record-Keeping:
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions and journal entries.
- Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring they are properly documented and supported.
2. Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Generate various financial reports for management, providing clear and concise summaries of financial performance.
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing for financial reviews and strategic planning meetings.
3. Account Reconciliation & Analysis:
- Conduct regular reconciliation of bank statements, general ledger accounts, and intercompany accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Track and reconcile fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
4. Auditing & Compliance:
- Assist with the preparation for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
- Ensure all accounting activities and financial records are in full compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local tax regulations.
- Support the timely and accurate submission of tax filings and other regulatory requirements.
5. Process Improvement & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and data accuracy.
- Identify and propose process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Provide support for budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an Accountant or a similar role in a corporate or BPO environment.
- Accounting Principles: Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or advanced accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Advanced Excel Skills: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, and financial modeling.
- Accuracy & Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all financial record-keeping and reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data, interpret trends, and report on key findings.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with local tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present financial information clearly and concisely.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA).
- Experience in a BPO or technology-driven company.
- Prior experience with multi-currency accounting.
