Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of machinists, ensuring safe and efficient operations
  • Plan and schedule production activities to meet customer requirements and tight deadlines
  • Oversee the performance and maintenance of CNC and conventional machines, ensuring optimal functionality and minimal downtime
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for machine shop activities, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to review and interpret technical drawings, ensuring accurate machining specifications
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize machining processes to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with required specifications and industry standards
  • Train and mentor machinists, fostering skill development and continuous learning
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to maintain a steady supply of materials and tools
  • Stay updated with advancements in machining technology, implementing improvements where applicable
  • Must possess experience in Heavy Plano Miller Machines
  • Must be proficient in the machining of Manganese Steel

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Extensive experience as a Machinist, with proficiency in both CNC and conventional machining
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and inspire a team
  • In-depth knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications with precision
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC machine programming
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Keen attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
