Job Summary:
The Production Machine Operator will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain tools, equipment, supplies and work areas.
- Assist in shipping and receiving of materials, tallying, identification, records and information.
- Operating and Set-up the machine.
- Fit, align, and adjust the components.
- Working with hand and power tools to make adjustments.
- Lifting up to 50lbs
- Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate or otherwise process products
- Set up and operate machines to can, bag, box or otherwise package products
- Check products and packaging for defects and to ensure conformance to company standards and perform corrective machine adjustments as required
- Record production information such as quantity, weight, date and type of products packaged
- Setup machine as required by drawing specifications
- Determine product dimensions, tooling, and to plan operational sequence by studying work orders, or machining instructions.
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
- Inspect or measure product through the use of measuring instruments to ensure conformance.
Requirements:
- Education background in engineering, technician, instrumental & electrical field and any experience of working on a production line is required.
- Experience utilizing hand tools-drills, peaveys, chainsaws, wizards, hammers, tape measures etc.
- First Aid Certification, an asset
- Always demonstrate a strong focus on safety
- Support a respectful environment and works well in a team setting.
- Must possess basic math skills.
- Ability to lift 50-75lbs continually
- Able to learn and acquire new skills
