Design Engineer - Swimming Pools & Spas

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer specializing in swimming pools, spas, and water features to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing innovative, functional, and technically sound aquatic facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. The role involves close coordination with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and project teams from concept through construction.

Responsibilities

• Design residential, commercial, and hospitality swimming pools, spas, water features, and wellness facilities.
• Prepare concept designs, detailed engineering drawings, shop drawings, and construction documentation.
• Develop hydraulic calculations, piping layouts, filtration systems, circulation systems, and equipment sizing.
• Select and specify pumps, filters, heat exchangers, sanitization systems, lighting, and associated pool equipment.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and material schedules.
• Coordinate designs with architects, MEP engineers, structural engineers, and other project stakeholders.
• Review architectural and engineering drawings to ensure compatibility with pool systems.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical information and equipment specifications.
• Support the procurement team by reviewing technical submittals and material approvals.
• Assist the project execution team by responding to technical queries and providing engineering support during construction.
• Conduct site visits when required to verify installation, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with design intent.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable local regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Participate in value engineering exercises to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of swimming pools, spas, water features, or aquatic facilities.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic design, water treatment systems, filtration, circulation, and pool equipment.
• Experience preparing detailed engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit and BIM is an advantage.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and relevant international standards for aquatic facilities.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and coordination with MEP and structural disciplines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality engineering documentation.
