Role Overview

As the Technical Design Associate Manager, you will lead the translation of creative concepts into production-ready assets bridging design innovation with manufacturing feasibility. This role combines technical design leadership with hands-on creative collaboration. You will manage the technical development of our product portfolio while playing a key role in creative direction, ensuring aesthetic excellence and operational efficiency across all gifting collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end technical design process for gift products, packaging, and presentation assets from initial concept through final production.
  • Manage design team and external design contractors to ensure output is aligned with brand quality and timelines.
  • Oversee the development and accuracy of tech packs, deadlines, material specs, renderings, and production files.
  • Partner with creative, procurement, and operations teams to ensure product feasibility, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability.
  • Play an active role in creative ideation and storytellingcontributing to mood boards, seasonal themes, and brand-forward design strategies.
  • Direct sampling rounds with vendors, ensuring alignment with brand standards and leading quality control reviews pre-production.
  • Evaluate and onboard new materials, finishes, and production partners in support of product innovation and premium positioning.
  • Monitor packaging trends, sustainability innovations, and luxury design benchmarks to continuously elevate the offering.

Requirements

  • 4 - 5 years of experience in technical product or packaging design, ideally within the luxury, fashion, or consumer goods industries.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing both technical documentation and creative development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign; familiarity with 3D design software and CAD tools preferred.
  • Deep understanding of production methods, including paper engineering, rigid boxes, soft goods, embossing, UV/foil techniques, and sustainable materials.
  • Proven experience working with international vendors, printers, and manufacturers.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple timelines and stakeholders.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics, storytelling, and brand alignment.
