About the Role

On behalf of our Healthcare client, we are seeking a Senior Manager for Strategic Procurement – Medical Technology. This is a strategic procurement role that goes beyond transactional buying to shape long-term value creation, drive innovation, and influence how medical equipment is sourced and managed nationally. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, capable of balancing clinical needs, financial sustainability, and operational excellence while managing complex stakeholder relationships across multiple healthcare institutions.

This role is ideal for professionals with experience in technical sales, application sales, field services, or biomedical engineering in areas such as MRI, Ultrasound, diagnostic, or imaging clinics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for medical equipment across Singapore healthcare system.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors to optimize performance in cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct horizon scanning and benchmarking of the medical technology landscape to identify trends, innovations, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clinical champions, nursing staff, biomedical engineers, and other stakeholders to gather technical requirements, provide product information, and support product evaluation. Drive consolidation and rationalization initiatives for better value.
  • RFP Process: Prepare and execute Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, including supplier evaluation and selection, to achieve cost-effective procurement outcomes.
  • Supplier Negotiation & Selection: Analyze total cost of ownership, evaluate suppliers, and lead negotiations to secure the best value.
  • Compliance & Policy Adherence: Ensure all procurement activities comply with organizational policies and the ALPS Procurement Manual.
  • Coordination & Communication: Facilitate alignment and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiation efforts to secure favorable terms, aligned with policies and procurement objectives.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, mentor, and develop the Procurement team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion process enhancements across sourcing and procurement to improve efficiency, reliability, and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in technical sales, application sales, biomedical engineering, or field services within medical technology (MRI, Ultrasound, diagnostic, imaging clinics).
  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in procurement, process improvement, policy drafting, and driving cost-saving projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP MM / Ariba is an advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge of medical equipment and healthcare procurement processes.
