About the Role
As an Associate in our Philadelphia office, you will serve as a core member of a broad and expanding practice group. You will navigate complex employment claims and manage general litigation defense matters for a diverse roster of clients across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This role is designed for an experienced practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses sharp critical reasoning, and is ready to integrate into a robust practice that values professional development and seamless team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Claims Defense: Handle a wide range of labor and employment matters, as well as general liability and complex insurance defense litigation from inception through resolution.
- Case & Document Development: Draft high-level pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda, and expertly manage and answer written discovery.
- Active Advocacy: Take depositions, participate in arbitrations, and support trial preparations and proceedings.
- Strategic Research & Analysis: Conduct sophisticated legal research to develop sound defense strategies for intricate workplace and compliance issues.
- Collaborative Execution: Deliver efficient, high-quality legal services as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of over 140 legal professionals, ensuring the highest standards of client service.
Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for candidates defending labor and employment claims, handling insurance defense, or managing complex litigation.
- Academic Background: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials and strong analytical skills.
- Bar Admission: Must be an active member in good standing of both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars.
- Skills: Exceptional research, writing, and organizational skills, with extreme attention to detail and the ability to articulate complex legal theories clearly.
