About the Role

As an Associate in our New Castle office, you will serve as a core member of both our General Liability and Workers' Compensation practice groups. You will navigate complex legal and factual defense strategies for a diverse roster of clients. This role is designed for a practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses sharp critical reasoning, and is ready to integrate into a robust practice that values professional development, mentorship, and seamless team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Case Management: Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct well-reasoned legal research, and manage general liability defense and workers' compensation matters from inception through resolution.
• Litigation & Trial Advocacy: Draft high-level pleadings, motions, and written discovery, while actively taking depositions and participating in arbitrations and trials.
• Proactive Communication: Partner closely with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel, ensuring absolute clarity and adherence to all legal deadlines.
• Mobile Advocacy: Travel as needed for court appearances, depositions, and client meetings across the region.
• Collaborative Execution: Deliver efficient, high-quality legal services as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of over 130 legal professionals, upholding the highest standards of client service.

Requirements

• Experience: 2-5 years of dedicated litigation experience, with a primary focus or demonstrated interest in general liability defense litigation and/or workers' compensation.
• Academic Background: JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials and exceptional analytical skills.
• Bar Admission: Must be an active member in good standing of the Delaware State Bar.
• Skills: Strong research, writing, and analytical capabilities, paired with excellent communication skills and an extreme attention to detail.
