About the Role
As an Employment Litigation Associate in our Chicago, IL office, you will serve as a vital advocate and advisor to employers navigating the complex landscape of modern workplace law. You will manage a dynamic portfolio that balances hands-on litigation with proactive client counseling. This role is designed for a driven, growth-minded practitioner—either with established employment law experience or a strong general litigation background and a demonstrated passion for labor and employment law—who thrives in a modern hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigation Management: Work as part of a dedicated team handling employment litigation matters from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, managing complex discovery, and participating in mediations.
- Courtroom Advocacy: Take ownership of critical litigation milestones by taking and defending depositions and arguing motions in court.
- Advisory & Compliance: Partner directly with clients on day-to-day workplace challenges, including drafting and revising employee handbooks, creating compliance frameworks, and delivering high-level training.
- Innovative Client Education: Utilize unique, cutting-edge technology platforms to educate and guide clients through complex business and legal challenges.
- Team Collaboration: Work under the direct mentorship of talented partners while maintaining empathy and commitment toward fellow team members.
Requirements
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of substantive litigation experience. While prior employment law experience is preferred, we are eager to develop talented litigators with strong transferable skills and a clear interest in labor and employment law.
- Bar Admission: Must be actively admitted to practice law and a member in good standing of the Illinois Bar.
- Academic Background: Juris Doctorate (JD) required from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
- Skills: Strong writing and analytical skills, a relentless commitment to client service, and the ability to manage multiple projects seamlessly in a fast-paced environment.
