About the Role
As a Workers' Compensation Associate, you will serve as a core member of our expanding New Jersey practice group. You will navigate complex legal and factual issues, developing sound defense strategies for a diverse roster of clients. This role is designed for an experienced practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses sharp critical reasoning, and is ready to integrate into a robust practice that values professional development, mentorship, and seamless team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Claims Management: Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct well-reasoned legal research, and manage workers' compensation matters from inception through resolution.
- Litigation & Trial Advocacy: Draft high-level pleadings and motions, expertly manage written discovery, and independently handle court hearings and trials.
- Proactive Communication: Partner closely with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel, ensuring absolute clarity and adherence to all legal deadlines.
- Mobile Advocacy: Travel as needed for court appearances, client meetings, and depositions across the state.
- Collaborative Execution: Deliver efficient, high-quality legal services as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of over 130 legal professionals, upholding the highest standards of client service.
Requirements
- Experience: 4-8 years of dedicated experience, with a primary focus on workers' compensation matters and a demonstrated interest in workers' compensation law.
- Academic Background: JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials and exceptional analytical skills.
- Bar Admission: Must be an active member in good standing of the New Jersey State Bar.
- Skills: Excellent communication, research, writing, and analytical capabilities, paired with an extreme attention to detail.
