Key responsibilities:

·Responsible for database performance and all dependant services through on-going tuning and database maintenance process.

·Responsible for database backup and all dependant services through on-going tuning and database maintenance process.

·Responsible for database installation and all dependant services through on-going tuning and database maintenance process.

·Responsible for database replication and all dependant services through on-going tuning and database maintenance process.

·Calculate, plan and recommend scalable system capacity requirements with respect to historical usage and growth projections.

·Participate in database related product analysis and contribute to the recommendation process.

·Mentoring the Database team in Monitor and tune databases, housekeeping processes, and other optimization processes through the establishment of automated processes (including scripts and tools), or manually in the absence of the requisite tools.

·Review and quality check any queries, stored procedures, and scripts of application developers/vendor to insure operations is running correctly without any negative impact to production.

·Design the procedure of the backups and housekeeping activities of the production databases are completed according to schedules.

·Overseeing the annual Database Technology budget and ensuring cost effectiveness.

· developing budget strategies to increase the organization profitability.

·Take Technology Decisions to Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services.

·Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.

·Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs.

·Mentor and Manage Database staff by training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance.

·promote a collaborative environment within and across IT teams

·Taking lead in managing teams, setting goals, building capabilities, coaching and providing feedback, driving change and innovating ideas. transparent with the team about challenges, failures, and successes.

·Mentor and coach Database team members including recognizing and recommending training requirements.

Job specific Skills:

Proven and effective experience of the management of various databases technologies

From 4 to more of professional experience database administration and Information technology experience

Understanding of IT industry working practices / methodologies ITIL Knowledge

Budget estimation and budget control of database function

People management skills in order to mentor database teams

ITIL Foundation knowledge

Project Management understanding - Ability to plan and control projects

Understanding of Networking principles

This is a highly skilled technical position that involves intricate knowledge of Oracle and its various components including RAC, RAC One Node, RMAN, and Golden Gate. High level database configuration, tuning, maintenance, patching, and problem diagnosis and resolution are all critical functions that the database manager will oversee.
