Role Overview
The Portfolio Analyst supports governance, reporting, analytics, and performance management activities across IT Operations & Foundation portfolios. This role is responsible for improving portfolio transparency, enabling strategic decision-making through data insights, and ensuring alignment of initiatives with organizational priorities. Acting as both an analytical and advisory partner, the role collaborates closely with Portfolio Managers, Epic Owners, Product Leaders, and EPMO stakeholders to drive portfolio health, delivery visibility, and reporting accuracy across enterprise initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Governance & Strategic Planning

  • Support portfolio governance activities, performance tracking, and strategic planning initiatives across IT Operations & Foundation programs
  • Assist in prioritization of initiatives based on strategic alignment, delivery timelines, and resource capacity
  • Coordinate portfolio review sessions, governance meetings, and strategic sync discussions
  • Maintain compliance with portfolio management standards, governance policies, and enterprise reporting requirements
  • Provide analytical recommendations and data-backed insights to support leadership decision-making


Portfolio Analytics, Reporting & Data Management

  • Analyze portfolio, delivery, operational, and financial datasets to identify trends, risks, bottlenecks, and performance gaps
  • Build, maintain, validate, and reconcile datasets sourced from Azure DevOps, Power BI, and TargetProcess
  • Develop dashboards, executive scorecards, KPI tracking reports, and portfolio health reporting for leadership visibility
  • Monitor data quality, identify inconsistencies across systems, and ensure reporting accuracy and integrity
  • Track dependencies, throughput, and delivery progress while proactively surfacing risks and operational concerns through analytics


Stakeholder Collaboration & Portfolio Enablement

  • Partner with Epic Owners and delivery teams to ensure initiatives align with ADO standards, strategic objectives, and reporting requirements
  • Translate complex datasets into actionable business insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Product Leaders, Portfolio Managers, and EPMO teams to improve reporting transparency and governance processes
  • Provide guidance on portfolio reporting standards, analytics practices, and data governance requirements
  • Support change management activities related to reporting enhancements, tooling improvements, and portfolio analytics optimization


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in IT portfolio management, project governance, PMO analytics, or data-focused operational roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Azure DevOps
  • Power BI including dashboards, measures, and data modeling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience handling large datasets and translating findings into business recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across global, cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data modeling, KPI frameworks, and portfolio performance measurement
  • Working knowledge of SQL, advanced Excel, or related analytics tools
  • Familiarity with IT financial management, capacity planning, or enterprise portfolio reporting
  • Experience supporting executive-level reporting and leadership presentations
