Senior QA Tester (Playwright)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer with a strong focus on automation, practical GenAI-assisted testing, and solid manual testing expertise. This role ensures quality across the software development lifecycle, combining automation-first testing, hands-on manual and exploratory testing, and AI-driven practices to deliver reliable, high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

• Own quality for assigned features and releases; act as a quality advocate throughout the SDLC.
• Analyze requirements and user stories to define test scope, coverage, risks, and priorities.
• Design and execute manual test cases, including functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and UAT.
• Perform end-to-end business flow validation and manage the defect lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript), covering UI, API, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and identify candidates for automation based on risk and business value.
• Leverage GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude AI) to optimize test cases, enhance exploratory testing, and accelerate automation development.
• Utilize test management and reporting tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, ALM) for traceability and reporting.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Business, Development, and DevOps teams.
• Partner with developers to validate functionality early in the development lifecycle.
• Support shift-left and shift-right testing practices and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years in Software QA / Quality Engineering, with at least 2 years of hands-on Playwright automation experience.
• Strong foundation in automation and manual testing principles, with practical test design skills.
• Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Experience with BDD concepts and Gherkin (e.g., Cucumber).
• Practical use of GenAI tools (ChatGPT, Claude AI, Jasper, Copy AI, Gemini) in automation or manual testing.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• API testing experience.
• Experience with test management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira (Zephyr/Xray), or Micro Focus ALM.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Exposure to contract testing or service virtualization.
• Awareness of accessibility and performance testing practices.
• Experience mentoring junior QA/QE team members.
