The Finance Systems & FP&A Support Analyst reports directly to the FP&A and Executive Projects Manager. This role provides critical support to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Finance Systems group, handling sensitive labor cost data with a high degree of discretion. The analyst assists with finance system administration, helpdesk support, financial modeling, and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Provide administrative support for finance systems, including user access assistance (password resets, account lockouts) in coordination with Payroll and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and validate approval workflows (e.g., expense reports, purchase requisitions) to ensure proper routing; troubleshoot workflow issues as needed.
  • Perform routine monitoring of scheduled system jobs and ERP-connected integrations; escalate issues when necessary.
  • Provide backup support for purchasing activities during primary staff absences.
  • Once trained, perform higher-level weekly tasks, such as running the intercompany billing process in Vantagepoint.
  • Helpdesk & User Support: Monitor the VP Helpdesk email queue to ensure timely responses; escalate or redirect requests as appropriate.
  • Respond to basic user inquiries and coordinate with subject-matter experts for complex issues.
  • Create guides and SOPs for FAQs to build a reference library and provide standard responses to users.
  • Financial Modeling & Reporting Support: Draft weekly financial models by updating input/reference documents, populating hours and values, validating outputs, and highlighting variances for FP&A review.
  • Assist with process improvements and automation initiatives for modeling and reporting tools (e.g., Prophix).
  • Support preparation of financial statements through system updates or supplemental reporting.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports to management as requested.
  • Conduct back-checks on FP&A team members’ work to ensure accuracy before delivery to management.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent college studies and work experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous finance experience required, including basic knowledge of P&L structure; experience building P&L models or preparing financial statements preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint, strongly preferred.
  • Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and understanding of databases preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle diverse situations and communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
