External Audit Manager
About the job External Audit Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage external audit engagements from planning to completion.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to audit staff and senior associates.
- Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact.
- Ensure audits are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with regulatory and professional standards.
- Identify and communicate key risks, control weaknesses, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support business development activities by assisting with proposals and client presentations.
- Stay up to date on accounting, auditing, and regulatory developments.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
- Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
Experience:
- Minimum 6–7 years of external audit experience, including audits across various industries.
- At least 2 years of people management experience.
Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
- Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
