Job Summary
The Plant Operations Head is responsible for overseeing overall plant operations, ensuring efficient production, operational excellence, and compliance with quality and safety standards. The role leads manufacturing operations, drives process improvements, and ensures productivity, cost efficiency, and continuous operational performance within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead overall plant operations including production, maintenance, warehouse, and quality functions
Ensure efficient manufacturing operations while meeting production targets and operational KPIs
Drive operational excellence, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor plant performance, productivity, quality, and cost management
Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, and regulatory standards
Develop strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize resources
Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and commercial teams to support business requirements
Lead plant workforce planning, people management, and capability development initiatives
Oversee implementation of safety standards and operational risk management practices
Prepare operational reports, performance reviews, and strategic recommendations for leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Operations Management, or related field
Strong experience in plant operations, manufacturing, or production leadership within Food or FMCG industry
Proven leadership experience managing large-scale plant operations and cross-functional teams
Strong background in operational excellence, process improvement, and manufacturing systems
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, and regulatory compliance standards
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
