Overview
We are seeking a Computer Operations Analyst to support and maintain enterprise data center and cloud environments. This role is responsible for monitoring system performance, ensuring service availability, managing backup operations, and supporting incident resolution in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate midrange systems to ensure high availability and performance of business-critical services
- Perform proactive system monitoring and respond to service health issues to prevent disruptions
- Execute batch processing schedules and manage related incidents or failures
- Conduct first-level troubleshooting, incident handling, escalation, and resolution
- Support system administration tasks such as file restoration, account management, and security updates under guidance
- Perform system startup and shutdown procedures in accordance with established operational protocols
- Drive service restoration efforts during system outages or performance degradation
Backup and Recovery Operations
- Monitor backup systems and ensure completion of scheduled jobs
- Process data restore requests and troubleshoot backup/restore failures
- Analyze logs, identify issues, and escalate complex problems to appropriate teams
- Coordinate with internal teams or vendors on backup-related system issues
- Maintain backup configurations, including adding or removing systems from policies
- Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning, testing, and execution
Operational Excellence & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and processing deadlines
- Conduct system health checks and ensure overall environment stability
- Generate operational reports, system performance summaries, and incident analyses
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and procedures
- Contribute to knowledge base articles and operational documentation
- Review and validate operational readiness for system or environment changes
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to resolve issues
- Support training and onboarding of new team members
- Improve operational processes and identify opportunities for efficiency
- Ensure effective communication and coordination across teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
- 2–4 years of experience supporting cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP, or similar)
- 2–4 years of experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware or equivalent)
- Experience in Unix/Linux and Windows environments, including system administration fundamentals
- Familiarity with enterprise job scheduling and automation tools
- Experience with system monitoring and incident management platforms
- Exposure to middleware, databases, or enterprise applications is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of scripting (e.g., shell scripting) and basic web technologies is a plus
- Ability to work across multiple platforms and environments (e.g., network, servers, and enterprise systems)
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Understanding of backup and recovery processes in enterprise environments

Additional Information
