Oracle DevOps Architect

Role Overview
We are looking for an Oracle DevOps Architect with strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and DevOps solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role will be responsible for architecting secure, scalable, and highly automated OCI environments, while supporting Oracle databases, Oracle Fusion Cloud applications, PaaS services, and enterprise integrations.
The ideal candidate combines cloud architecture, DevOps automation, OCI security, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and Oracle ecosystem expertise, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical infrastructure and deployment solutions.

Key Responsibilities
OCI Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.
  
• Architect OCI solutions covering networking, compute, storage, databases, IAM, security, and PaaS services.
  
• Design and manage OCI environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  
• Provision and manage cloud resources using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and OCI Resource Manager.
  
• Ensure OCI architectures are scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with enterprise infrastructure standards.
  
• Support at least end-to-end implementation activities covering architecture, provisioning, deployment, configuration, and operational handover.
  

DevOps & CI/CD Automation

• Design, build, and optimize end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for cloud applications and infrastructure.
  
• Implement automated build, deployment, testing, configuration, and release processes.
  
• Work with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and OCI DevOps to establish robust deployment pipelines.
  
• Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, Java, or Ruby.
  
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual deployment and operational activities through automation.
  
• Integrate infrastructure automation and application deployment processes into broader DevOps workflows.
  

Oracle Database & Fusion Cloud Support

• Support the lifecycle management of Oracle databases, including patching, cloning, backup, recovery, and operational maintenance.
  
• Work with Oracle Autonomous Database, including ATP and ADW environments.
  
• Support infrastructure and integration requirements associated with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.
  
• Understand the relationship between Oracle databases, Fusion applications, PaaS components, integrations, and the underlying OCI infrastructure.
  
• Assist in troubleshooting infrastructure, database, application, and integration issues across the Oracle ecosystem.
  

OCI IAM & Cloud Security

• Design and implement OCI Identity and Access Management (IAM) structures and security controls.
  
• Manage policies, users, groups, dynamic groups, application roles, and access permissions.
  
• Establish appropriate compartment structures and access models for enterprise OCI environments.
  
• Implement secure Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs) using OCI Security Lists and Network Security Groups.
  
• Implement and maintain DevSecOps practices throughout infrastructure and deployment processes.
  
• Work with OCI Cloud Guard and related security capabilities to strengthen cloud security posture.
  
• Support federation and identity integration with Oracle Fusion Cloud environments.
  

Containerization & Platform Engineering

• Work with Docker and Kubernetes, including Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE).
  
• Support containerized application deployment and orchestration within OCI.
  
• Integrate container platforms with CI/CD pipelines and OCI infrastructure.
  
• Manage supporting cloud storage, configuration, and platform components required by containerized workloads.
  
• Apply configuration management and automation practices across cloud environments.
  

Performance, Reliability & Optimization

• Monitor OCI environments and assess system health, performance, availability, and capacity.
  
• Identify infrastructure and application bottlenecks and implement appropriate optimizations.
  
• Optimize compute, storage, database, and network resources for scalability and reliability.
  
• Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of cloud infrastructure and deployment issues.
  
• Recommend improvements to infrastructure architecture, automation, security, and operational efficiency.
  

Technical Architecture & Workshops

• Facilitate technical workshops with business, application, infrastructure, security, and other technical stakeholders.
  
• Translate complex technical requirements and processes into clear infrastructure specifications and architecture solutions.
  
• Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible and aligned with architectural standards.
  
• Communicate technical designs, dependencies, risks, and implementation considerations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  

Agile Delivery

• Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
  
• Work closely with development, infrastructure, security, database, and application teams throughout implementation.
  
• Contribute to sprint planning, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement activities.
  
• Manage competing technical priorities while maintaining delivery quality and timelines.
  

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or a closely related discipline.
  
• At least 3 end-to-end OCI implementation projects, covering cloud infrastructure design through deployment and implementation.
  
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and its core services.
