About the job Finance Controller
Job Summary:
The Financial Controller will oversee and manage end-to-end finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, robust controls, and efficient month-end close processes. This role will support investment banking and alternative investment fund activities, providing accounting expertise and continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage month-end close processes, including reviewing financial transactions, payments, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and ensure accurate financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation in month-end close and reporting workflows.
• Detect control gaps and implement key accounting controls where necessary; maintain comprehensive process documentation.
• Provide accounting guidance on relevant topics and update accounting papers/guidance as required.
• Liaise with the Technology team to resolve system issues and ensure timely closure of accounting-related tickets.
• Support ad-hoc tasks and projects in line with departmental and company initiatives.
• Maintain oversight of loan and credit product accounting and reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s/College Degree in Financial Management, Economics, Accounting, or related business field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting, financial reporting, or fund accounting for alternative investment funds or investment banking.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements preparation, month-end closing processes, and accounting principles.
• Familiarity with credit and loan products.
• Understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong multi-tasking and prioritization abilities.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering high-quality outputs with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in computer and internet applications; capable of working with Service Level Agreements (SLA) and metrics.
