Job Description:
The Foreign Exchange Account Officer will handle a portfolio of accounts while actively pursuing new business opportunities. This includes understanding clients' foreign currency requirements, introducing relevant FX services, coordinating transaction requirements, and working with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient execution.
The role requires a strong combination of sales ability, relationship management, financial acumen, and knowledge of foreign exchange transactions.
Job Description:
Client Relationship Management
Develop and maintain productive relationships with assigned corporate and business clients.
Serve as a key contact for clients regarding foreign exchange-related requirements and services.
Understand clients' businesses, transaction patterns, and foreign currency needs.
Conduct regular client engagements to identify potential opportunities and strengthen account relationships.
FX Sales & Client Solutions
Assess clients' foreign currency requirements and recommend appropriate products or transaction solutions.
Discuss foreign exchange rates, transaction structures, and related service requirements with clients.
Coordinate with internal FX/Treasury teams to obtain appropriate market pricing and transaction support.
Negotiate commercial terms and pricing with clients within established authority and guidelines.
Sales Performance & Account Growth
Work toward individual and team targets for FX volume, revenue, account growth, and new business generation.
Review account performance and identify clients with potential for increased FX activity.
Monitor client transaction trends and use relevant information to develop account strategies.
Maintain a regular pipeline of prospects and opportunities.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure client transactions comply with applicable banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Obtain and verify required supporting documents for FX-related transactions.
Escalate unusual transactions, documentation concerns, or potential risks through the appropriate channels.
Maintain proper documentation and records of client activities and transactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Banking & Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of sales experience in the banking industry or a related financial services environment.
- Experience in corporate or commercial banking is an advantage.
- Exposure to foreign exchange, treasury, trade finance, cash management, or other banking products is preferred.
- Proven experience in client acquisition, account management, or business development.
- Strong understanding of financial products and basic foreign exchange concepts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
- Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to work toward sales targets.
