About the Role
The Key Account Manager will manage and grow the strategic open-market accounts for uni-branded pharmaceutical products, while also overseeing distributor partners handling the branded generics line. You'll take the lead in driving sales performance, ensuring strong in-market execution, and maximizing commercial opportunities across your assigned accounts. all while building lasting partnerships that support the company's long-term growth in the pharma industry.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow your assigned key accounts to hit sales, distribution, and profitability targets
Create and carry out account plans and business strategies for uni-branded pharmaceutical products
Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key customers — including institutional and trade partners
Scout and onboard new open-market accounts, and widen product listings across relevant channels
Support product launches, portfolio growth, and promo initiatives within your accounts
Recommend and roll out pricing, discounts, and commercial terms within approved guidelines
Keep a pulse on market trends, competitor moves, and pricing shifts in the pharma space
Manage distributor partners to ensure solid in-market execution for branded generics
Lead regular business reviews, performance tracking, and forecasting sessions with distributors
Ensure full compliance with pricing structures, regulatory requirements, and trade programs
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field (preferred)
3–5 years of experience in key account management, sales, or distributor management — pharma or healthcare industry background preferred
Solid experience handling pharmaceutical products (ethical drugs, branded generics, or OTC)
Proven track record managing key accounts, hospital/clinic/pharmacy channels, or institutional customers
Strong negotiation, account development, and stakeholder management skills
Good grasp of pricing strategies, trade terms, and commercial operations in the pharma industry
Sharp analytical skills — comfortable interpreting sales data, market trends, and competitor activity
Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems
