Distribution Inventory Manager (Retail / FMCG)

Role Overview

The Distribution Inventory Manager oversees inventory management across distribution operations, ensuring optimal stock availability, inventory accuracy, and efficient inventory processes. The role collaborates closely with warehouse, logistics, planning, and commercial teams to support operational and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage overall inventory performance across distribution centers
• Develop and implement inventory control strategies and procedures
• Monitor stock levels, aging inventory, shrinkage, and stock movements
• Lead cycle count and stock take activities to ensure inventory integrity
• Analyze inventory data and identify opportunities for process improvements
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support replenishment and distribution planning
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and operational standards
• Lead and develop inventory teams to improve operational efficiency and accuracy
• Prepare inventory and operational reports for management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or distribution operations
• Experience in retail, FMCG, logistics, or high-volume distribution environments
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities
• Proficiency in WMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel
• Experience handling large-scale inventory operations preferred
