We operate a hybrid working model, with a split of days being in the office and days being worked at home. Pepper Money has three offices across the UK and one office in Manila, where this role will be based.
What you will be doing
As an Azure Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for building, automating, and supporting a scalable, cloud-native platform for application delivery. You will focus on container orchestration using AKS, CI/CD integration, observability, and applying SRE principles to ensure performance, security, and developer experience. Your work will enable development teams to deliver with speed and confidence on a robust and well-governed Azure platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters
- Develop and manage Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Implement SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
- Deploy observability solutions (monitoring, logging, tracing)
- Improve platform security through policy enforcement, RBAC, and secrets management
- Drive automation and platform reliability through scripting and IaC
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams to improve platform maturity
What we are looking for
This role requires a strong DevOps and platform engineering mindset, focused on reliability, automation, and scalability. A solid understanding of Azure services is essential, particularly around containerisation, networking, and identity. You will be comfortable owning the platform and enabling others to deliver with speed and safety.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2 years working of experience with:
- Strong technical expertise in Azure (App services, Container Apps, AKS, VMs, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, Front Door, Firewall, DNS, Private Link).
- Building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Designing CI/CD pipelines for repeatable, automated deployments
- Driving operational excellence with monitoring, logging, and observability tools
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
