Shift pattern: Mid-shift – 4pm MNL to 1am MNL

Working Model: Hybrid, 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

We operate a hybrid working model, with a split of days being in the office and days being worked at home. Pepper Money has three offices across the UK and one office in Manila, where this role will be based.

What you will be doing

The Financial Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager and Financial Controller to support the delivery of accurate financial results and management accounts across the business. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the month-end close process through journal postings, general ledger adjustments, and the delivery of accurate financial results.
  • Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies while maintaining audit-ready documentation.
  • Assist with financial reporting, technical accounting activities, statutory accounts, audits, and stakeholder engagement across Finance and the wider business.
  • Contribute to process improvements, finance transformation initiatives, automation projects, and other ad hoc finance activities to enhance operational efficiency.

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience in delivery of financial results is essential.
  • A degree of understanding of securitisation and loan warehouse structures is advantageous but not essential
  • Exposure to process improvement initiatives, finance transformation projects, automation activities, or continuous improvement programmes.
  • Experience of working within Financial Services
  • Strong IT skills including proficiency in Excel and the use of complex formulas. Knowledge of Power BI, Power Automate, or similar tools would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Ability to work within established internal controls and maintain a high standard of quality across all tasks.
  • Ability to form productive relationships at all levels.
  • Forward thinking, seeking efficiencies and improvements in activities.
  • Able to work under pressure and to deal with multiple tasks efficiently and to tight deadlines.
  • You will take ownership of the responsibilities allocated to you.
  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Accountancy or any related course.
  • Qualified Accountant will have an advantage but it is not a must for this role.
