Reporting Line: Head of Finance / General Manager

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will excel in driving financial reporting, data analysis/optimization, cashflow planning, and expense monitoring to enhance organizational performance. He/She will collaborate with department heads, establish strong business partnerships, and play a key role in shaping financial strategies.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Drive the consolidation of weekly/monthly/quarterly/bi-annual/annual reporting with comprehensive analysis and comments.
  • Review actual reporting and explain gaps in actual vs budget/estimates to stakeholders.

Data Analysis and Optimization

  • Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Analyse financial and business data for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
  • Leverage insights to establish strong business partnership, driving strategic decision-making and operational improvements.

Cashflow Planning and Expense Monitoring

  • Develop and implement effective cashflow planning strategies.
  • Monitor and forecast cashflow to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
  • Monitor seasonality of expenses and track YTD/YTG spending and ambitions.

Financial Risk Management

  • Continuously assess financial risks and opportunities through analyses and stakeholder meetings.
  • Prepare consolidated monthly risk and opportunities reporting with relevant commentaries.

Statutory Compliance and Grant Application

  • Ensure timely preparation of annual statutory accounts and tax filings (income tax, GST, etc.) in compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee corporate secretarial deliverables.
  • Oversee grant applications, including processing of grants, and preparing necessary documents for audit and claim purposes.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CA/CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with retail or beauty spa background preferred.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to handle large data sets is critical.
  • Strong analytical skills, meticulous.
  • Possesses a sense of inquisitiveness on work matters.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively, as part of a team with strong work ethic.
