MOBILE EQUIPMENT (ME) TECHNICIAN
Job Description:
Job Summary:
Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various port equipment such as Quay Crane (QC), Rubber Tyre Gantry (RTG), Mobile Equipment (ME) & Spreader, ensuring the port equipment are available at optimal performance, cost effective and reliable.
Key Duties:
- Perform routine check, repair and preventive maintenance of port equipment
- Trouble-shoot any electrical, mechanical and hydraulic control systems of cranes or heavy lifting equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair – to diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in port equipment.
- Ability to;
- Check Quality of Work performed by contractors or OEM
- Reduce unplanned maintenance by identifying corrective work, problems and apply appropriate methods to identify causes and achieve satisfactory solutions
- Check Equipment Condition by giving proper feedback to the Team leader/planner if any abnormalities found during the maintenance.
- Identify equipment recondition by highlighting to Team Leader on any reconditioning works
- Manage Personal Tool
- Manage Preventive Maintenance Checklist by;
- Suggest improvements on work procedures and equipment improvements.
- Use engineering knowledge and understanding to apply technical and practical skills.
- Review and select appropriate techniques, procedures and methods to undertake tasks
- Use appropriate scientific, technical or engineering principles
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Possess a technical certificate SKM 3, DKM or diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Automotive / Electronic / Mechatronic or equivalent/ relevant experience.
- At least 1 - 3 years hands-on experience in industrial automotive maintenance operations.
- Knowledge in PLC, drive, hydraulic system, diesel engine or mechanical component alignment is an advantage.
- Require less supervision and performs well under pressure. Thinks creatively and finds innovative ways to produce results.
